We are not always fortunate enough to have a labyrinth

handy when we need to pause. A Finger Labyrinth

can be a substitute, where we allow our fingers to do

the walking as we make the inward journey, twisting

and turning, resting in the center, and returning to the

world. Even the slight interruption of “walking” this

labyrinth, can change the tone or direction of our day.
Finger Labyrinths are also fun to make, and they are

portable! They can be hung on refrigerators, in bedrooms, or be placed on the

inside cover of school binders. Anytime we “walk” the Finger Labyrinth we

can create an opening where our inner qualities are allowed to emerge, and we

instinctively know the next right action.

Materials:

• Colored cardstock with labyrinth printed on it. If you want the finger labyrinth to go

in a school binder, punch 3 holes in the cardstock before decorating.

• Markers or Sharpies
• Scratch paper under artwork
• White or Gel glue that can create a thin stream of glue
• Sand or very fine glitter
• Q-tips

Directions:

1. Print labyrinth image on cardstock. Image is located at:

www.CSEcenter.org/Events/Youth--Family/Lighting-the-Path-for-Children

2. Write an inner quality that you would like to experience in your life, on the

front of the labyrinth.

3. Using markers, decorate your labyrinth.

4. Put a piece of scratch paper under artwork.

5. Trace the lines of the labyrinth with a thin line of glue starting from the

inside and working outward. Be careful not to get glue in the spaces! You can

practice making a thin stream of glue on scratch paper first.

6. Sprinkle sand or glitter on the glue. Shake gently to spread and then shake off

the excess onto the scratch paper.

7. Check over your labyrinth. If the sand or glitter is covering up the spaces, then

gently remove with a Q-tip.

8. Let dry.
