T
he great yoga master, Paramahansa Yogananda first arrived in America in
1920 at the age of twenty-seven. He traveled from India as his native
country’s delegate to an international congress of religious leaders
convening in Boston. His journey to the West to teach the practical means by
which people in all walks of life could nurture their spiritual growth and awaken
to Self- and God-realization made the upcoming International Kriya Yoga
Congress possible (March 7 –9, 2013 in San Jose, California).
This year marks the 62
nd
year of dedicated discipleship for Roy Eugene Davis,
who met Paramahansa Yogananda in 1949. This Congress offers a tremendous
opportunity to benefit from the experience and knowledge of Mr. Davis. Such
a meeting is a great blessing indeed and can be life changing. The Congress will
occur during the auspicious mahasamadhi anniversaries of both Paramahansa
Yogananda, and his guru, Sri Yukteswar.
The Kriya Yoga Congress differs from most conferences because its focus and
dedication are on spiritual practice. The Congress environment is very much
like a retreat, intentional in its support of meditation and contemplation. The
programs and the setting are designed to foster clarity, peace of mind, and spiri-
tual realization.
Registration for the Congress is now open. Please visit our website:
