For those who are suffering with chronic, or acute low back pain, sacroiliac
disorders, or those who have been treated for low back issues, it is recom-
mended that yoga should be practiced with caution in order to avoid further
injury or discomfort. Be aware of the following guidelines:
1. Remain aware of how your body feels at all times.
2. Do not strain. Move within your limits.
3. Breathe fully and regularly as you practice.
4. For maximum benefit practice on a regular basis.
5. Stand tall, keep chin back, ears in line with shoulders, and shoulders in
line with hips. Maintain a neutral spine. Don’t bend forward at the waist.
Rotate and bend at the hips, keeping the spine perfectly straight with your
bend. Don’t twist at the waist, turn the whole trunk.
